By accessing or using TeachReady AI ("the Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Platform. We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Platform. Users aged 16–17 may use the Platform only with verified parental or guardian consent. The Platform is not intended for children under 16. By using the Platform you confirm that you meet these requirements.
To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and confidential, and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep it up to date. Notify us immediately at privacy@teachready.ai if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.
TeachReady AI provides a virtual classroom simulator where ESL teachers can practice teaching AI-powered students. Our services include:
The Platform is intended for educational and professional development purposes. It does not guarantee employment, certification, or any specific career outcome.
The Platform uses artificial intelligence to simulate students and to generate coaching feedback. The AI students are fictional personas — they are not real children or real people. AI-generated responses, scores, and assessments may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing any AI-generated output and using your own professional judgement. AI output is provided for training and self-improvement purposes only.

The Platform can record your teaching sessions, including your webcam video, audio, screen share, slides, and AI interactions. By starting a recording, you consent to:
Recordings are stored for 7 days and then automatically expire, unless you delete them sooner. You may delete any recording at any time using the delete button on the recording's watch page; deletion removes the recording from our storage immediately. You can purchase a downloadable copy of a recording for a one-off fee (see Section 11). Recordings are only used to provide the service to you — they are not published or shared with anyone without your action.
You retain full ownership of the lesson materials (PPTX, PDF, images) you upload to the Platform. By uploading them, you grant TeachReady AI a limited, non-exclusive license to process and display them solely for the purpose of showing your lesson in the classroom. PPTX/PDF materials are stored temporarily in your private practice workspace on our servers (Cloudflare R2) and are automatically deleted when the 7-day workspace window expires or the workspace is replaced (see Section 10). Uploaded files are never published or shared with anyone and are never used to train any AI model.
Practising on the Platform consumes credits under a four-tier model:
Paid purchases provide permanent access to the Platform, not permanent file storage. One uploaded lesson is available in an active workspace for 7 days from creation. Workspace files, including uploaded PPTX/PDF materials and unpurchased recordings, are automatically deleted when that window expires or when the workspace is replaced. Download anything you want to keep before the 7-day window closes.
Recordings are available for 7 days unless you delete them sooner. You may purchase a downloadable copy for R100 during that period; purchased recordings are stored permanently (or until account deletion). Progress data and lightweight assessment summaries are retained permanently until account deletion. We do not retain full classroom transcripts.
You may delete your account from the Danger Zone on your portfolio or by contacting privacy@teachready.ai. Account deletion permanently removes your personal data, including progress history, assessment reports, recordings, purchased recordings, uploaded lessons, workspace metadata, portfolio data, and payment unlock indexes. Payment records may be retained where required by tax, accounting, or other law.
The Great Shape Safari starter lesson, the Platform's user interface, the AI student personas and conversation engine, the coaching framework and report system, and all other content, features, and functionality of the Platform are the exclusive property of TeachReady AI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from TeachReady-owned content except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

The free tier includes 5 practice sessions on the built-in Great Shape Safari starter lesson — no credit card required. After that, the following one-off purchases are available:
All paid lessons (Practice Pack, Credit Top-Up and Mia Premium sessions) are capped at15 minutes per lesson, enforced server-side. The free Safari Demo and tester sessions are not time-capped.
Credits are non-transferable, have no monetary value, and are granted or consumed as described in Section 10. Free-tier credits are limited to Great Shape Safari practice. All payments are processed via third-party payment providers (PayFast in South Africa, PayPal globally) and are final. No refunds are provided except where required by law. If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from accessing a purchased item, contact us and we will work to resolve the issue promptly.
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Platform at any time without notice. Recordings are stored for a limited time (7 days) as described in Section 8 — download or review them before they expire.
To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, TeachReady AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to loss of data (including expired recordings), loss of employment opportunities, or interruption of service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amounts you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to the Platform or third parties. You may delete your account at any time by emailing privacy@teachready.ai — see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data on deletion. Certain provisions of these Terms (including Sections 6, 7, 10, 17, and 19) survive termination.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of South Africa.
